About Dr. Blackwood
Dr. Blackwood has a multi-faceted background, but spent his formative years in the California Bay Area. After completing his nephrology fellowship at Emory University, he practiced in Central Georgia while also serving as a clinical adjunct professor in nephrology.
He moved to the Atlanta area in 2022 to join Georgia Nephrology, where he has remained passionate about excellent clinical care and about teaching, and has taken part in the practice's research studies. Dr. Blackwood has a particular interest in gout, and in the relationship between chronic kidney disease and gout.
Outside of work, Dr. Blackwood enjoys a range of cultural activities, including exploring different international cuisines. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, taking part in service activities including medical missions, and staying active in his church.
